Opinicus - From The Ashes
Opinicus began as a full band in early 2005 and began gigging around the
Sheffield and South Yorkshire area. Prior to this the band began as an idea
with Jesse and Adam who had both previously played in local bands and wanted
to start a new project after being introduced to each other by mutual
friend.
Po (our original drummer) , Tom and Mike were recruited in early 05 to
complete the first line up and since then Opinicus have written and recorded
2 separate demos and their EP From the Ashes. They have also performed
numerous high energy live shows around the UK and are continuing to write
new material and play as many gigs around the UK as possible.
Po parted ways with Opinicus in early 2007 and following a brief drummerless
period James was onboard who has now established himself as an important
part of the band and the driving beats behind Opinicus.
Going forward Opinicus will keep working towards evolving their sound while
retaining their ethics of writing brutally heavy metal with a melodic, epic
edge to it, strong yet progressive song structures and a penchant for big
riffs,blazing guitar solos, thundering drums and varied metal vocal styles.
Opinicus are committed to what they do and are definitely not afraid of
playing big shows to big crowds or to take things as far as they will go.
They are currently are looking for a record deal to finance further
recording plans for an album and for touring
